Bin Bandanas takes a proven municipal idea and applies it to one of the most common pieces of public infrastructure in every community.

Giving back

For every Bin Bandanas project, 1% of revenue is directed to a community organization connected to the place we're serving, supporting local arts, youth, environmental or neighbourhood initiatives.

Because beautifying a community should give something back to it, too.

The Bin Bandanas School Art Challenge

What if the artists were the kids who live here?

A municipality picks a theme. Local students make the artwork. The winning designs are printed and installed in the parks near their schools.

Designed with an artist's eye, the challenge treats students as contributing public artists, with their work installed where their community sees it every day.

Beautiful can also be useful.

Compost art draws on plants and soil, recycling art on circularity, garbage art on reduction. Optional QR codes link to your city's sorting guide. Official waste-stream labels are never covered.

Optional sponsorship

Beautification doesn't have to come from the city budget.

Local businesses can fund school programs, artist commissions and neighbourhood installations. They get a quiet credit line. This is community creativity, never advertising space.

Why Bin Bandanas

Creativity belongs in everyday places.

Public art · Waste diversion · Civic pride · Youth engagement · Placemaking

Bin Bandanas starts from a simple belief: creativity shouldn't live only in galleries. It belongs in the streets, parks and public spaces people pass through every day.

“If something has to be part of our streets, parks and public spaces, why shouldn't it contribute to their beauty?”

Bin Bandanas transforms ordinary waste, recycling and organics containers into opportunities for public art, local storytelling and community participation, while preserving the functionality and identification of the original receptacles.

The larger missionBeautify every refuse receptacle, everywhere.

The 3-Stream Beautification Station

Don't start with 1,000 bins. Start with one station.

Your parks already have 3-stream stations: garbage, recycling and compost side by side. We turn one of them into a beautification station, so you can see the public response before committing to more.

1,000 bins: later1 station, 3 bins: this season
Choose one park.A place people already love, or one that needs a lift.
Choose one 3-stream station.Garbage, recycling and compost, kept exactly as they are.
Choose three designs. One per stream: your artwork, a local artist or a school class.
